Miniature: Watercolor scene on ivory of a young woman with a bared breast being lectured or instructed by a man wearing glasses while a cherub looks on, cherub is holding in one hand a vase of some sort with a baby inside, incredible fine detail down to the piece of paper with Latin words, gilt frame with lead and velvet backing, pendant measures 77mm x 71mm including bail, unsigned, with paper labels on back. From the collection of former US ambassadors to France and Belgium.
CONDITION:
Portrait condition is excellent; pendant back has separated leaving the exposed ivory base, light paint loss on corners most notably at the top left and bottom right, light pitting to finish; good glass.
